On Monday 26 February, the introductory session on Cybersecurity as part of the Certificate in Data Management organised by ICHEC Formation Continue was held in videoconference mode due to access difficulties in Brussels. However, this did not hinder the participation of about twenty students who attended the session presented by Stanislas Van Oost. The remote format also didn’t dampen interaction during the session. It seems that the reflexes developed during the recent period of COVID-19 restrictions are still well established.
Topics covered offered an overview of the cybersecurity landscape, with also a focus on governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) for information security and data protection. An important topical item was also discussed, namely the arrival of the NIS2 law.
A big thank you to Albert Derasse, coordinator of the program, for proposing to introduce cybersecurity to his learners.
